BRIEF HISTORY OF SOLIDO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
SOLIDO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL is located at Solido, Nabas, Aklan started to operate in 1969 at SOLIDO BARRIO HIGH SCHOOL. In 1998, by the Republic Act 6655, an act converting Barangay High Schools into National High School, the school was renamed as SOLIDO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.
It must be remembered that thirty-six years ago, then late Mayor Gideon G. De Pedro, the late Epimaco Roquero, Sr., and the late Wenseslao G. Bandiola, Sr. proposed to the late Barrio Captain Hon. Adela Juayno Salmorin the establishment of a Barrio High School to cater the needs of our less fortunate elementary graduates who desired to pursue a Secondary education. Our resident pioneer mentors in the person of Mr. Winston M. Bandiola, Miss Louella D. Manocan, and Miss Celsa B. Juayno labored very much to have the school exist, just receiving meager compensation. The rest is history. At present Solido National High School has its new school site equivalent to two (2) hectares with eleven (11) academic classrooms including the PTA project classroom for Junior High School, (1) computer laboratory room, 1 room for school records and guidance room, three (3) Senior High School laboratory rooms for Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Cookery, Two-storey- six academic classroom building for senior high school, one (1) faculty room, and one (1) library room donated by World Vision utilized as Principal’s office.
